Cambodia House is pleased to have sponsored Simon Tedeschi in Cambodia in May 2008. Simon had a most successful time revisiting the music students he had held Master Classes with in November 2006 and bring enlightenment, energy and knowledge to these students.(see below)

Simon listened, mentored and tutored the students and was pleased to see their development.

Simon is keen to further his relationship with these musicians and is looking into ways to support their professional development. If you are interested in assisting Simon please visit his website, www.simontedeschi.com.

Cambodia House is very pleased to be able to support our Cambodian counterparts in a manner that will broaden their experience, strengthen their skills and foster personal and professional development.

Thinking of supporting one of the very worthwhile organisations Cambodia House works with?

Projects in Cambodia funded and supported by Australians

The Green GECKO Project is a non-profit, non political, non government organisation that strives to provide long term, locally managed safe place where beggar and street children can recieve free education and a safe place for a few hours a day.

If you would like to know more about this project please contact getinvolved@greengeckoprojectt.org

Another new project we have recently been informed of is the Hope for the Chidlren orphanage in Battambang, in the north west of Cambodia. Established by Australian and supported by the Aids Trust of Australia this orphanage supports children with HIV/AIDS or who are orphans of parents with HIV/AIDS.

MLOP TAPANG

A program for vulnerable children in the south of Cambodia, this project established by Australian John McGinley, has made a great impact on children's lives who were at risk in this southern tourist town.

These projects are always looking for funds to support their work. Volunteers are also required periodically to assist and support their work. Visit their website. www.mloptapang.org

THE MATESABROAD FOUNDATION

This project was established a few years by John McKeon from Roseville after visiting his daughter, Katherine, an Australian Youth Ambassador, who was working with a squatter school program in the outskirts of Phnom Penh.

These squatter schools provide informal education for children who cannot access the formal school system due to poverty or other circumstances. Over 600 children's education is supported by the Matesabroad Foundation.

For more information email info@matesabroad.org.au

THE KARUNA FOUNDATION

Established in 2005 by Phil and Cathy Kiely The Karuna Foundation supports disadvantaged children in the far north of Cambodia in Varin, a 7-12 hour drive from Siem Reap.

Tabitha Cambodia works with the poorest members of the community, working alongside Cambodians to help generate an income to improve their lives through cottage industry, savings programmes and community development.

All donated funds are used for specific purposes (eg for houses or wells) or to expand Tabitha development programs to more villages in more provinces. Tabitha Foundation Australia was established to expand Tabitha Cambodia's support base.
